Acolytes: We welcome children, teens, and adults to serve at the altar during Sunday services and for special services. Acolytes light candles, ring the sanctus bells, and assist at the altar and credence table. They are torchbearers, crucifers, and thurifers. The ministry fosters commitment, devotion, responsibility and teamwork.
Altar Guild: The Altar Guild is a lay ministry to serve God in His house by preparing the Sanctuary for worship, maintaining and caring for the sacred vessels, altar linens, and vestments, and serving the clergy and the parish.
A/V Ministry: This group oversees the variety of audio and visual technologies used during services. We use microphones and project a worship guide for those in the sanctuary and our services are livestreamed.
Flower Guild: Flowers are faithfully prepared to the glory of God for Sunday and other services throughout the year. If you would like to give flowers as a thanksgiving or as a memorial, please contact the office.
Lectors: They are responsible for reading the Word of God at public worship in such a way that the people can hear and comprehend each passage of Scripture.
Licensed Eucharistic Ministers: These are lay persons authorized to administer the consecrated elements at a celebration of Holy Eucharist. Training and licensing is provided through the Diocese.
Music Ministry: Singers and instrumentalists are welcome. Music enhances our 10am Sunday services and feast days.
Ushers & Greeters: This special ministry serves as the welcoming face of Holy Cross. Serving as an usher is a great way to meet and help those with whom we worship. They provide assistance with doors and seating. They also provide accurate count of parishioners at each service and give the count to the clergy at the Peace. At the appropriate time, they pass the collection plate for the offering. They may also bring elements to the altar for consecration. Ushers invite guests to the parish hall for fellowship, answer questions, and distribute our welcome packets.
